
Student Assistance Program-High School
The Student Assistance Program at Tunkhannock Area High School is an intervention program comprised of teachers, guidance counselors, the school nurse, administrators and appropriate community agencies.
The primary objective of the SAP Team is to assist the student and his/her family in overcoming barriers to learning.
The Tunkhannock Area High School SAP Team has committed themselves to identifying students who are having difficulty and to help them cope with any challenges they may be facing.
The team members are trained to identify and refer high risk students to appropriate treatment.
High Risk Concerns may include:
- Substance Abuse
- Physical/Sexual Abuse
- Eating Disorders
- Depression
- Personal Loss
Referrals to the Team can be made by:
- Students
- Parents
- Teachers
- Counselors
- Administrators
