District Report Card

Message from the Superintendent

Welcome to the Tunkhannock Area School District. The web pages you are about to view contain a wealth of information about the schools and their individual programs. I would encourage you to use the web page as a resource for information concerning students, programs, and to answer questions you may have. The web site is not just for students and parents that are in the district, it is for the community as well. If we are to be successful in educating students, we need to have the support, advice and counsel of the community at large. In order to do this we need to keep the community informed about the events, activities and issues within the schools. We will be using the web page to communicate with parents and community at large. It is a goal of the administration this year to refine, update and make more user-friendly the web pages you are about to view. This process has been incorporated into one of the classes currently being taught at the high school. You will see from time to time new information and a new look to the web page. You can thank the students in the high school and their teacher for these upgrades, updates and keeping information current. If you desire to have information put on the web page, please contact any one of the building principals. Another tool we will be utilizing to communicate, which is specifically designed for parents of students in the district, is a piece of software called Edline. This will allow teachers to communicate on a weekly basis with parents concerning their student’s performance. Additional information will be sent home once Edline is operational. A target date for the implementation of Edline is by the conclusion of the third week of school. Once again, please check back to monitor the progress of the implementation of this important piece of software that will allow us to enhance our communication to you. If you have any concerns, questions or issues, please feel free to initially contact the building principal of the individual school. If it is a matter for district concern, please feel free to contact my office and I will be happy to provide you with whatever assistance may be needed to address your concern. I am confident that with the support of administration, professional staff, paraprofessional staff, and support staff that we can provide students of the Tunkhannock Area School District a superior education.

Very truly yours,

Michael J. Healey
